The festival’s Short Films Competition will host Iranian animated film ‘The White Whale’ while ‘Witness’ goes to the Shorts Special Screenings section.
Written and directed by Amir Mehran, ‘The White Whale’ is about a young man looking for the remains of his close friends, whom he lost in an airstrike about 30 years ago.
Ali Asgari's ‘Witness’, another participant from Iran, is about a mother who helps an elderly woman in a shopping mall, but she faces challenges when a tragedy strikes.
Earlier reports said that Iranian feature films ‘Yalda’ and ‘The Black Cat’ will also be screened at the festival.
The 36th edition of Warsaw Film Festival will be held on October 9-18.
